Jordan Jeffs Memorial Scholarship
August 27, 1999 - September 06, 2016
The Jordan Jeffs Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Jordan Glenn Jeffs. It is difficult to put into words all that Jordan represented in his life. During his time on earth, he had such a positive impact on all who knew him. Although Jordan had a mischievous, playful side to him, which you could always see in that lopsided grin of his, he took loyalty, compassion, and community service very seriously. Nothing was more important to him than making a difference and serving others. Jordan continues to be an inspiration in our community.
One scholarship in the amount of $500 is funded by Jordan’s classmates, the Class of 2018, along with the continuing support from his friends, family, and all who loved him and want to see his legacy live on in helping others.

Remembering Jordan
Jordan Jeffs was born August 27, 1999, in American Fork, Utah. He was the second of six children, and the chunkiest baby of all of them. He was a calm baby who would fall asleep to bum pats. When awake, he would stare at and study people with a serious face, maybe because to heft his cheeks in a smile was not worth the effort. He had a determined if at times stubborn attitude: touching hot cooktop coils after being told not to, or refusing to give up in imaginary trampoline fights. When asked his favorite movie by his kindergarten teacher, he said to her surprise, “The Lord of the Rings…the fighting scenes!”
In high school, Jordan was extremely loyal to friends, family and Five Guys Burgers and Fries. And was, once again, determined. He overcame a speech impediment, was an “A” student, and under took recycling responsibilities for the prize of his favorite food: donuts.
He also loved dill pickle potato chips, Doritos dipped in salsa, and anything that he could snatch from his friends’ lunches while they gave presentations in class.
He had a bizarre sense of humor, dry and purposeful. It often only made sense when matched with his facial expressions and playful mischievous demeanor. He would steal pencils from friends and then return them moments later claiming they’d lost them, for their praise. He also had special nicknames for friends and family.
Late in his life, as his vocabulary broached profanity, he was encouraged by parents to find alter natives. For whatever reason, the word “heifer” took his lexicon by a storm. When shocked, he would spout, “Oh, heifer!” If he had a particularly rough workout or moved something heavy, he
would say, “Man, that hurt like a heifer.”
His dream was to attend Brigham Young University and become a part of the FBI.
Jordan passed on September 6, 2016 in a car accident that took the community and school in a wave of sadness and reflective joy. Upon his death,“Jordan Strong” t-shirts were seen throughout the community, and his football number, 21, decorated the football field. He was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. His astroturf-border ed g rave can at times be decorated with orange football pylons, cow figurines and an occasional box of donuts. His family and friends hold an annual hike in his memory called the Hurts Like a Heifer Hike.
